Yarn type, size, stains, old repairs, wear, or colour-run are checked and noted and yarn dye-stability undertaken. After inspection, we reconfirm initial quote, or if any change in details we update it, for works go-ahead.

An effective, pre-wash process specifically designed for rugs that gently loosens dust particles and safely eliminates harmful, ingrained debris and embedded build-ups in delicate woven fibres.

Protects and prevents any undue fibre abrasion during the cleaning process, and encourages renewed rug suppleness.

As part of the restorative rug process, most weavings are hand cleaned prior to any necessary repair or restoration works being undertaken on a piece.

First, weavings are temporarily secured, if needed. Next, we apply our traditional hand-cleaning methods, combined with organic soap solutions – safe for children and pets. Pieces are then carefully dried. This crucial cleaning step encourages rug fibre suppleness, with colours and textures revived, yarn fibres refreshed, allergens removed, and the lustre restored.

Repair and Restoration works can now be applied, to a clean, dust/dirt-free weaving foundation, allowing us to dye-match newly installed yarns to the weaving’s true colours, and hand-apply works safely to cleaned and conditioned rug fibres, to produce a seamless, authentic finish.
